About Me:

I was named to the WAC Freshman/Transfer team in 2009 and Second Team All-Conference in 2011 and 2012. Additionally, I was named WAC All-Academic and NFCA Scholar-Athlete award all four years, in addition to my University of Hawaii Scholar-Athlete and Dean's List recognition. My sophomore year, I posted career highs in batting (.311), home runs (13), runs batted in (36) and slugging (.576). As a team, we won the WAC regular-season title, the WAC conference tournament, the Stanford Regional, the Tuscaloosa Super Regional (upsetting No. 1 Alabama at the time), and attended the Women's College World Series for the first time in school history. While at the WCWS, I had two plays featured in ESPN's top 10 plays of the day. One was a diving catch in our win against Missouri, and one was a 17-pitch at-bat that ended in a home run against UCLA (who went on to win the title that year). My 2010 team still holds the NCAA Division 1 record for home runs in a single season with 158.

After graduating, I came home to California, got married, and started a family. Professionally, I began teaching and coaching at a small private high school. There I posted a 72-33 record with three undefeated seasons in the Sierra Delta League. I earned SDL Coach of the Year honors three times (2015, 2016, and 2018) and mentored 15 All-SDL honorees. In 2016, I went back to school to obtain a Master's degree at Sac State in Educational Leadership.

After graduating, I received the head coach job at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I served one year at ART U, guiding the Urban Knights to a 20-19 overall record and a 16-11 mark in the PacWest Conference in 2019. My team finished the season with six straight wins, while one of my players garnered second-team All-Region honors from the Conference Commissioners Association.

I joined the UC Davis softball staff as an assistant coach in the fall of 2019, where I supervise the hitters and outfielders. My husband, Mike, and I have three children: Penelope, Dominic, and Theodore. We are excited about the fourth child who is on the way, and due in September.

I would work harder than anyone, and I would lead our team in any way that I could- starting or not.

Never Stop

My passion for athletics has been a guiding force along my journey. I was a four-year letter winner in 3 different sports in high school- volleyball, soccer, and softball. Without athletic aid, I could not afford college, so the pressure for me to perform at the highest level was extremely high at all times. Initially, the coach at my dream school did not want to recruit me because I did not perform well when he came to watch me. I stayed consistent and steadfast in my efforts, begging him to give me another chance. I owned the fact that I choked when I knew he was there, but also acknowledged that I would probably never be the "best" player on his roster. I told him that the value I brought to the team was in effort and belief that we could accomplish anything. I assured him that I would work harder than anyone, and I would lead our team in any way that I could- starting or not.

I convinced him to come back and watch me play in another tournament where I hit amazing and had a few fantastic plays in the outfield. He agreed to gift me with an official visit to the school during the fall of my senior year, and I could not be more ecstatic. After visiting Honolulu and the University of Hawaii at Manoa, my passion for the school was reaffirmed. I knew that was where I belonged, even though there was not a lot of athletic scholarship money available to me ( I did receive the Western Undergraduate Exchange aid and other academic aid).

I remained firm in my decision to become a Rainbow Wahine, and was awarded an athletic scholarship late in April of my senior year- VERY late for someone planning to attend in the fall! I hustled hard while at school and graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in English in only three years. I spent my senior year earning my Post Baccalaureate in Secondary Education and graduated in May of 2012.
