About Me:

I became the first-ever full-time assistant soccer coach at Missouri Western in 2018. In 2018, I helped the Griffons earn a 12-6 overall record and a 7-4 record in the MIAA Conference. The Griffons earned the No. 5 seed in the MIAA Conference Tournament and posted 5 shutouts during the season. Eight Griffons earned All-MIAA Team honors and 14 earned All-MIAA Academic honors.

In 2017, I was a graduate assistant with the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND and helped guide them to a 12-5-2 overall record and a 9-4-2 in the NSIC. The team earned the No. 5 seed in the NSIC Conference Tournament and made it to the semi-finals. Mary tallied six shutouts and a 1.63 goals scored per game average. Several Marauders earned All-NSIC Team honors, and eight earned NSIC All-Academic honors. Two players were also selected to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Women’s All-Central Region team.

My role was working directly with the goalkeepers and helped improve the goals allowed average from 2.53 to 1.16 and the total goals allowed dropped from 43 to 22. The number of shutouts also increased from three in the 2016 season to six in the 2017 season.

I completed my master’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Mary.

I am a native of Brandon, South Dakota, and was the starting goalkeeper at Augustana University (SD) from 2012 to 2014, earning All-NSIC second team honors in my final year and setting season and career records for the Vikings in wins.

As a senior, I helped Augie reach the NCAA regional tournament and finished the season with a record of 14-6, a .814 save percentage and a goals against average of 1.02 while posting six shutouts.

In 2015 I graduated from Augustana with a degree in Biology. I opened up my soccer coaching career while still in college. I served as an assistant boys and girls coach from 2013-15 at my former high school, Brandon Valley. In 2015 I started coaching youth soccer in Sioux Falls where I was the Dakota Alliance U15 girls team assistant coach from 2015-2016 and the U11 girls team head coach from 2016-2017.

My husband Bryce and I got married in December 2017 and currently live in St. Joseph, MO with our two dogs, Louie and Odie.

Having an athletic mentor might be one of the best things you can do as a young athlete. Getting to know someone who has been where you want to be and experienced things that you want to be a part of is an invaluable resource.

Prove it to Yourself

606.JPG

When I was 13 and trying out for my club team (we have tryouts every year to place players on the A team or B team) I got placed on the B team.  I was so disappointed and a little embarrassed as I had always been on the A team. However, this set back was not going to get me down. I worked extremely hard heading into the next season by attending extra training sessions with the older girls and boys teams. I guest played in many games within my club.

The following year, I made it back on the A team after tryouts!  I proved to myself that with determination and perseverance I could accomplish my goals. Being on that A team put me in front of college coaches and really helped me get recruited by the colleges I wanted to attend. I am so glad I had the support of my parents during that time as well to help push me to be better.
